Comment and limitations |
This is a proxy indicator that measures direct economic loss attributed to disasters in relation to Canada’s gross domestic product (GDP), whereas the UN Global indicator states: “Direct economic loss attributed to disasters in relation to global gross domestic product (GDP)”. |
Method of computation |
For each year, direct economic loss attributed to disasters is calculated as a percentage of the gross domestic product (GDP) in current prices: |
