Definition and concepts |
The indicator (commonly known as the Rural Access Index or RAI) measures the share of a country’s rural population that lives within 2 km of an all-season road. |
Comment and limitations |
The scope of analysis includes only the areas located outside of population centres. The provincial/territorial aggregate totals also include the population counts of the census subdivisions, for which individual count values were suppressed. |
